Impact DescriptionArundo donax can be used for nutrient removal from wastewater. A. donax was the most efficient at removing nitrogen and phosphorous because of its rapid growth rate. Rhizomes re-sprout quickly after removing top growth through cutting. Harvesting shoots is a good choice for nutrient removal from polluted waters.
