Impact DescriptionIn Lake Erie, the rate of biosedimentation through pseudofeces production was very high (28mg/cm2 day at a density of 1180 individuals/m2) under turbid conditions, lending support to the hypothesis that zebra mussels (Dreissena polymorpha) are responsible for increased water clarity observed since mussel introduction.
