Impact DescriptionDue to its allelopathic effects, Alternanthera philoxeroides can exclude and crowd out native species. In China, aqueous extracts from A. philoxeroides have affected the germination and growth of many native species, such as Vicia faba, Zea mays, Raphanus sativas and Lactuca sativa.
