CommentsMNDNR conducted shoreline searches on Big Birch Lake on 15 September, 2016. An adult sized zebra mussel (1" long) was found near the township owned public water access on the southeast end of Big Birch Lake. Additional zebra mussels were found on the south shore of Big Birch Lake and were considered young of the year sized (<3/8" long). the zebra mussels were attached to rocks from about 1 foot to 3 feet of water. The three other public water access sites on Big Birch Lake were also searched and yielded no additional zebra mussels.; EDDMapS report
