CommentsAlewife was first noted in sampling in 1999. However, since that sampling was just targeting muskellunge, the collection of other fish was not included in a report. The first official fisheries survey report which documented alewife was a 2002 survey of the entire fish community. Since they were first observed in 1999 and ten were also found in 2002, there is pretty strong evidence that they are reproducing.
