CommentsFirst brought to the Hawaiian Islands in 1894 and introduced to freshwaters of all the main islands from 1920 through 1959. The species persists in streams of Kauai near Koke'e where populations continued to be stocked until 1992. Rainbow trout established naturally reproducing populations in four of these streams. May also by present in the Kohala region of Hawaii Island.
