CommentsParrotfeather observed October 2020 on weed island in Tahkenitch lake occupied 2 patches less than a sq meter each, but proximity to an active beaver lodge indicates it will likely spread. Weed island is close to 2 public boat launches- recommend educational signage there. Also on Oct 3 several rare plant communities were observed on other peat islands in 5-mile arm of Tahkenitch, about 3 miles away – a big concern if this weed spreads. Rare plant info submitted to OR Heritage / INR by my colleague.
