CommentsUSACE employees have found numerous zebra mussels on the Holt Pool of the Black Warrior River beginning in Fall 2020, but this is the first USACE confirmation of zebra mussels on the Oliver Pool of the Black Warrior River. On the upstream side of the riverside upper miter gate around gate anodes and on gate girder approximately 16 feet below normal surface waterline at the new Oliver Lock and Dam in Northport, AL, Black Warrior River. The lock is currently closed and dewatered to perform maintenance work from 27 JUN to 26 JUL 2021.
