| Comments | We used a D-Ring Net to gently scrape the bottom of the river, stirring up the sediment, which we then scooped up. We transferred the load to an aluminum tray, where we sorted through the sediment to find macroinvertebrates, for a school project. We put all of the organisms in an ice cube tray partially filled with water, where we used a dichotomous key to classify them. We observed an inordinate amount of mussels. |
